A Festive Update on the Sunshine Coast Real Estate Market: December 2023 Insights and Holiday Cheer
As the festive lights twinkle and we gear up to celebrate Christmas and welcome the New Year, I wanted to share with you some of the latest trends in our Sunshine Coast real estate market along with my heartfelt holiday wishes.
Firstly, a bit of fantastic news from last month – we hit a record-breaking $35 million in sales! It’s an incredible achievement and a strong indicator of the demand in our area.
Now, onto some insightful market trends. This year, we’ve noticed that the average days on market for properties has increased compared to last year. This shift offers a unique perspective on our current market dynamics, reflecting both the challenges and opportunities for buyers and sellers alike.
Even with this increase in time on the market, the competition remains fierce. We’re still seeing multiple offers on properties, a clear sign of the strong demand and the desirability of our beautiful Sunshine Coast region.
With about 3,382 properties currently on the market, significantly lower than the usual 5,000 to 6,000, the balance of supply and demand continues to shape our market. And as we look towards the future, particularly with the anticipated rise in interest rates, it’s going to be intriguing to see how these factors play out in the coming year.
For those contemplating whether to list now or wait until the new year, my advice leans towards taking the initiative. Getting ahead of the anticipated influx of new listings in January 2024 could be a smart move.
